Software Engineer
We are seeking a Software Engineer to help build Turiya's technology platform. You will be a key part of Turiya's engineering team and will help build software systems to gather, process, and analyze large amounts of data using clustered cloud computing. You will work with a team of algorithm experts to design, implement, and scale processes for data mining, predictive analysis, and machine learning. Your systems will operate over data from many popular online games comprising of billions of events from millions of players. This role requires the individual who wants to be thrown right in the deep end, and immediately begin working with real data to solve mission critical problems for leading customers in one of the hottest areas of technology.
What you'll do:
- Build software systems for analyzing large amounts of data in the cloud
- Design and implement machine learning, predictive analytics, and data mining algorithms applied to game data
- Work on all aspects of software development: design, implementation, testing, tuning, and monitoring
- Interact with customers to understand their requirements and data
What we want:
- Passion for building technology to sift through large amounts of data to extract truth
- Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in computer science, statistics, or applied mathematics
- Strong software engineering background, preferably Java
- Experience with relational databases and/or Hadoop/HBase/Hive or other large scale data processing environment
- Demonstrable software experience in machine learning, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling is a bonus
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous startup experience
- Background or prior experience in online gaming is a plus
