Web Application Engineer
We are looking for a web application engineer to lead the development of our online application which utilizes our proprietary player targeting technology to identify and acquire new players across a premium network of popular online games. This application will enable game publishers to utilize data-driven insights to evaluate, select and market to the potential players who are most likely to enjoy and monetize in their games. The ideal candidate would be a master of end-to-end web development, including application architecture, data modeling, user interaction, css/html/templating, javascript and deployment. You'll be immediately thrown in the deep end and allowed to build and iterate quickly.
What you'll do:
- Own the design, development and operation of Turiya's web application(s)
- Build a friendly and flexible app to keep up with the needs of a growing and diverse customer base
- Deploy and maintain live applications (e.g., run on ec2)
- Continual analysis, testing, and iteration in response to customer feedback/needs
What we want:
- Expertise in LAMP-like development and with frameworks in ruby, python, and/or php
- Experience with multiple deployed web applications
- Solid grounding in the fundamentals of mvc-based software engineering
- A commitment to test-driven development
- Experience with agile/xp methodologies
- Ability to run with ill-defined specs and react quickly to shifting needs
- Previous startup experience
- Background or prior experience in online gaming is a plus
